I know the primary closet was a doozy! But when your house is under contract in the first week, you'll be happy you put in the time to do it!
How about bathrooms?! Have you ever noticed the clutter in a bathroom?
Hand soap
Towels
Any decor
Stool
Potty training seat
Trash can
Toilet brush
Plunger... now who needs to be reminded of what happens on a toilet??
You want your buyer to think nothing EVER happened in that toilet. It's sparkly clean, ready for their bum.
So how do we do this? Declutter and hide everything.
PRIMARY BATH: BEFORE
Double vanity
Full frame Euro shower
Private throne room
Linen closet in the primary bath
We bought our house as a spec home. We didn't pick any upgrades, the builder picked all of them, and these 4 things sold me on the house. With all my 'living in the house' items, I'm taking away from my biggest selling points! (Ps. I know you don't use half of that stuff in the linen closet... cause I don't. Prepping for this post, I had to throw most of it away cause it was expired.)
So, throw it out, pack it up, sell it, hide it. I don't care what you do with it, just get it out of the visual for your buyers.
Here are the afters. I promise, no edits were made, no light changes, just a fresh slate.
AFTER
Now, which set of photos draws in you in more?
Were my first set of photos messy?
Is this a house of someone who doesn't care, who hasn't maintained it? No.
But is there visual clutter? Yes.
'But Mindy!! I live here... what am I suppose to do with my stuff? I need to shower!'
I got you Boo. (and trust me, we want you to shower.) Just hide it.
Yes, buyers might open every cabinet and see your stash, but it's not the first thing that hits them when they open the door.
Call me, let's do this together! I'll bring the boxes. Happy hiding! #howto
